This project examines the urban spaces that women avoid at night: streets, car parks, architectural gaps where diffuse fears and potential threats gather. Starting from 3D scans and photographs, I rebuilt these places as animated point clouds to produce a video that shows the city as a fragmented, unstable and sometimes hostile environment.

Rather than illustrating violence, the piece seeks to make everyday insecurity perceptible, revealing the voids, blind spots and distances that women build into their daily journeys.

Les femmes lévitent

The project culminated in a multimedia installation combining film photographs, 3D reconstructions of night-time urban environments and street sound recordings. Shooting on film brings a rawer material (grain, blur, deep blacks) that heightens the sense of unease. The point clouds, in turn, break space apart and hold the areas perceived as threatening at a distance, showing them in an almost abstract form. The staging relies on a room plunged into near-darkness, a large-scale projection and an enveloping soundscape, placing the viewer in a state of vigilance.
